The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is all set to witness the unification of operations at terminal 1 and 2, October 1, 2019, onwards for domestic flights of IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir.

The move has been introduced to ensure convenience for both, the passengers, as well as the airlines since the domestic flights will be diverted to a single terminal. This will benefit the passengers along with the airlines travelling via Mumbai International Airport.

CSMIA is known for being one of the busiest airports in the country as it has catered close to 48 million passengers in 2018-2019 alone and is always abuzz with travellers. Accordingly, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has allocated Terminal 1 with terminal boarding bridges for all airlines.

On the other hand, the airport's Terminal 2 operates both domestic as well as an international flight. Currently, the airport operates 50 international airlines along with nine domestic airlines. Meanwhile, CSMIA's primary runway handles more than 46 arrivals and departures per hour whereas the secondary runway has a capacity of 35 flight movements per hour.

Therefore, in order to enhance the consumer's journey experience and assure them with up-to-the-mark service, CSMIA will soon introduce the changes in its Terminal 1 and 2 operations. Right from paperless boarding to ordering food from an app to body scanners, CSMIA has always put passengers first.

Starting October 1, IndiGo and GoAir to operate all domestic flights from T1 and International from T2, while SpiceJet to shift full operation to T2.
