Modi Government's Dream Project 'Bullet Train' is developing at a fast pace. The 508-kilometer-long project which will bring a new shift in the Indian transport system, and is expected to be completed by August 15, 2022, at an estimated cost of ₹1 lakh 10 thousand crore. 

Once functional, the bullet train is expected to reduce the travel time drastically between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and vice versa to just 2 hours, the fare for which will be ₹250 onwards and will extend up to ₹3000, which will vary as per destination.

The maximum fare between Mumbai and Ahmedabad would be ₹3,000. Passengers travelling between Bandra-Kurla Complex and Thane will complete their journey in 15 minutes and will be at a cost of ₹250.

The fare is planned to be 1.5 times more than the rental of AC First class. There will be 10 coaches in one train, one of which will be 'Business Class'. Officials have also mentioned that construction work is in progress and may start in December depending on the land acquisition. The Ministry is planning to acquire 1,415 hectares of land for the project and it has sanctioned ₹10,000 crore for the acquisition. 

Further, as per the implementation, employment opportunities for around 3,000 to 4,000 people will be open.

The construction of the project will be shared by India and Japan, where the Indian contractor will work for 460 km while Japan will construct only 21 km undersea. Around 360 people from India will be sent to Japan for training, of which 80 people will be trained there for the job. He told that nearly 80 Japanese citizens are working with Indian officials.
