Amidst the Jet Airways crisis, many organisations have stepped in to ease the problems of the employees who lost their jobs. SpiceJet has taken over 1100 employees from Jet Airways and provided them jobs as pilots, flight attendants, cabin crew, airport services, security etc.

SpiceJet had also taken 22 planes which were earlier used by Jet Airways. Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet said that they have over 14,000 staff members and a fleet of 100 planes including Boeing 737s, Bombardier Q400s and B737 freighters. It operates around 575 daily flights on an average to 62 domestic along with nine international destinations. They are further planning to take in more staff as and when it is required. 

Notably, around 20,000 people of Jet Airways have lost their jobs and many have been deprived of their salaries. This resulted in the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) stepping in and writing a letter to urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the crisis.
