Reportedly, the test runs of trains will start on the Wadala to Kasarvadavali Metro 4 and Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh Metro 4A routes soon. It is believed that the first metro line to Thane city is likely to be launched by the end of 2025.
Metro 4 is 32.32 km long and Metro 4A is 2.7 km long. There will be a total of 32 stations on both these lines. The extended line from Wadala to Kasarwadavali, divided into three phases, is almost 80 percent complete. The first section from Kasarwadavali to Cadbury Junction is expected to be completed by December 2025. This will be followed by the Cadbury Junction to Gandhinagar section in 2026 and the final section from Wadala in 2027. The Green Line 4A extension connecting Kasarwadavali to Gaimukh is 90 percent complete. It is likely to be operational by the end of this year.

Currently, trial runs of the metro are being conducted on the route from Gaimukh to Cadbury Junction, and after this is completed, the metro trains will be tested by RDOS. The MMRDA plans to launch this metro line by the end of 2025 December after all inspections and tests are completed.
Which stations will the metro run at?
The metro will stop at Cadbury Junction, Majiwada, Kapurbawadi, Manpada, Tikujiniwadi, Dongri Pada, Vijay Garden, Kasarwadavali, Govniwada and Gaimukh stations.
