On October 2, 2018, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th anniversary, the Central Railway (CR) will be introducing the first ever Tricolour Mumbai local as a tribute to the Father of the Nation. As per the CR officials, the coaches have been painted saffron, white and green to represent India’s tricolour flag and will feature Mahatma Gandhi’s several depictions as well.

Along with this, users will get to see the glimpses of Swachh Bharat, to promote the Swachh Bharat Campaign.
Students and teachers of Kalyan’s Central Railway School (CRS) have painted the rakes.

One of the officials said that the newly painted rake is termed as “Swachhta Express” and will run on tracks from October 2, 2018.

As the Indian government has declared October 2 as ‘Swachata Divas’, Railways are trying their best to promote the positive cause by keeping the country clean.
