Under the Clean Air Action Plan, the Municipal Corporation has received grants for the years 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23. A mandate has been given to purchase 123 e-buses under this grant. By the end of January 2023, 32 e-buses will be made available for the public while remaining 91 e-buses will come by June 2023. Commissioner Shri. Bangar mentioned that if the contractor fails to adhere to the timeline then he will be fined as per the rules and regulations.

The Commissioner directed that the newly available buses should be run on the route of diesel buses which have the lowest income. He expressed that this will encourage citizens to focus on public transport and the revenue per kilometer of transport service will increase as well.
