Indian rapper, Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia who is famously known as Badshah, has allegedly told the Police that he has paid at least ₹72 lakhs to enhance views and likes on social media.

The Mumbai Police in a statement to the media has said that the rapper has paid extra money for additional views on one of his music videos, in a bid to break a viewership record.

Earlier on August 8, Badshah had released a statement after appearing for questioning before the Mumbai Police in the fake follower's racket. The singer-rapper asserted that he had aided the officials in the investigation by co-operating and carrying out ‘due diligence’. He revealed that he ‘categorically’ denied all the allegations levelled against him and that he never got involved in ‘such practices’.

According to media reports, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Nandkumar Thakur, Crime Branch, was quoted as saying, "Mumbai Police SIT has verified 25 people till now. A few of them have recorded their statements as witnesses in this case as of now,"

He further added, “Police will not disclose the names of people under investigation as this may hamper the probe, most of the people who are identified or whose statements are recorded are people who are in the social media business,"
