Adani Group Undertakes Leadership Shuffles

After attaining the controlling stake in the Mumbai International Airport, AAHL becomes India’s largest airport operator. And have thereof shuffled the leadership positions.

The Adani Group has undertaken prominent changes in pivotal leadership positions at Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) and Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL). This move can be seen as part of the transition process wherein AAHL now undertakes management control of MIAL from the GVK Group.

AAHL’s head office will be relocated to Ahmedabad from Mumbai by the group, mentioned reports. The Chief Executive of MIAL, R.K. Jain will now be the Chief Executive of Adani Airports. He will be substituting, current Ben Zandi who will now be the Chief Executive, non-aero at AAHL. The company in a statement mentioned that Jain will be completely involved in shaping a scheme for airport slum rehabilitation to take it to the implementation stage, apart from being concerned with airport regulatory issues.

Other than that, the Chief Executive of MIAL, Chief Airport Officers of Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Jaipur will be reporting to Jain. Who will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of AAHL, Malay Mahadevia.

B.V.J.K. Sharma, the Director of Adani Ports and SEZ, will be Chief Executive of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL). Thus, after Jain, the new Chief Executive of MIAL will be Prakash Tulsiani, President, Operations at AAHL. The recently created role of Head Operations at the Centre of Excellence will be led, by Prabhat Mahapatra who also heads operations at MIAL. In place of Mahapatra, Manoj Katar, the Chief Operating Officer of Dahej port, has been appointed.

After attaining a controlling stake in MIAL, AAHL became the country’s foremost airport operator.
