After a recently taken decision, the government has implemented new rules for the booking and delivery of domestic gas cylinders, and these have been in effect from Sunday, November 1, 2020. As per reports, the process will now include a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) which aims at preventing theft of these gas cylinders and also ensure proper identification of customers.

According to this rule, the customer will be sent a code to their registered phone number after they book a cylinder. When the same is being delivered, the staff member will require your code and only after receiving the same, the cylinder would be delivered to your address.

Currently, these new booking and delivery rules have been implemented across 100 smart cities, and the officials will soon implement the same in other cities, over the next few months. As per reports, the plan was initially implemented on an experimental basis in Jaipur, and the same showed excellent results, where the department achieved more than 95 per cent success. Besides this, this plan is applicable for domestic use cylinders only.

In order for a smooth process, customers have been asked to update their mobile number. This can be done by either speaking to the distributor or with the help of the app available with the gas agency employee. These DACs will be mandatory and will help the staff deliver cylinders to the right address. Going further, delivery of the same at the incorrect address or mobile number may be stopped.
