On Monday night, a part of a 25-year-old building in the Lucky Compound area of Mumbra, Thane, suddenly collapsed. In this tragic incident, an elderly woman lost her life. As soon as the collapse occurred, rescue teams and local police rushed to the scene and began rescue operations.

The building, known as D Wing in the Lucky Compound, was a ground-plus-three structure that was 25 years old. Additional construction had been carried out on its terrace. On Monday night, the balcony of room number 404 on the terrace suddenly collapsed. At that moment, two women — Ilma Zehra Jamali (26) and Nahid Jainuddin Jamali (62) — who were passing by the building, were hit by the falling debris.

Both women sustained serious injuries and were immediately taken to the hospital with the help of local residents. Ilma was admitted to Kalsekar Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Nahid was taken to Bilal Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
