The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is anticipated to purchase 75 dialysis machines for civic dispensaries as well as maternity homes in the western suburbs, reports stated. The tendering procedure has been commenced by the civic body for the purchase of machines.
This transpired after it found locations for the installations in health centres. According to accounts, this move comes in the aftermath of the increase in the number of demands for a dialysis centre in the city’s western parts.
Based on officials from the civic body, the machine is expected to be put up in areas that include the likes of Andheri (W), Kandivali (W), Goregaon (E) and Ghatkopar (E).

An official from the BMC was quoted by the Indian Express elaborating on how after the machine’s installations, those who cannot afford expensive dialysis treatment at private medical establishments will be the beneficiaries. Since they can attain dialysis at an affordable price.
Additionally, some narratives claimed that a considerable number of corporators were posing questions about the measures undertaken to develop health infrastructure in the suburbs. This is taking into cognizance the surge in the population through the years.
