Amid the pre-monsoon showers in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday convened a meeting with the top officials at the former’s residence in order to discuss the strategy to deter inconvenience across the city during monsoon season. 

As Mumbai received its first downpour, the central railway line was affected and several areas were water logged. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Railway have shut down several bridges for public use marking them ‘dangerous’.

CM Fadnavis organised a meeting with the concerned officials at his residence ‘Varsha’. In the meeting, top officials from the BMC, Railway, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Mumbai Police and Traffic Police were present.

Recently, BMC has shut down 29 bridges across Mumbai for public use on the basis of the structural audit report. As the monsoon season has almost arrived, it can cause a huge traffic problem in the city. Chief Minister Fadnavis had called this meeting to discuss on the same issues.
