Along with Mumbai, huge profits are generated from the manufacture of drugs across the country. The central government has taken some stern steps to put an end to this. An online portal will be set up to ban the sale and production of medicines. From the production of medicines to going to the hands of patients every information will be available on this portal. Patients will not get medicines without the prescription.

 The rules will be tightened for the sale of certain important drugs like Schedule S, Schedule H and Schedule H-One. Many types of cases of foeticide, female foeticide have been reported by using illegal methods of MTP kit for abortion. At the same time, in the operation of the FDA, many such drugs have been seized which were being used illegally or their counterfeit goods were being brought.

Considering all these things, the Central Government has decided to construct this portal. Pharmacist Shashank Mhatre says that after the government's move, unlawful sale of medicines and expensive claims, along with simulated medicines will also be regulated. Opposition of Maharashtra State Chemist and Druggists Association

The association opposed the decision saying that practically chemist is not able to give 100% information of medicines to each patient on e-portal. At the same time, the state also does not have such facility.
