Even though Mumbai has been plateauing the cases of coronavirus, the adjoining areas have still posed to be a matter of concern as the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) records 114 fresh cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, August 26.

Moreover, along with the surge in the number of cases, the number of deaths have also been a cause for concern. On Wednesday, the MBMC witnessed 6 patients succumbing to the disease whereas 79 patients have succumbed in the disease in the last 14 days.

So far, 11,874 positive cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the area with 409 people succumbing to the disease in total. On Wednesday, with 114 new cases of the coronavirus, the tally in MBMC reached 11,874. However, 102 people have recovered from the disease on Wednesday, which has taken the tally to 10,067 people recovering in total.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, Maharashtra clocked 14,888 cases of the coronavirus taking the COVID-19 tally in the state to 7,18,711. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 72.69 per cent, as against the national average of 76.30 per cent.

On the other hand, in Mumbai, 1,854 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the aggregate to 1,39,537 cases.
