According to the data available with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), more than 14,000 housing societies in the city are now fully jabbed. As per this data, more than half of the housing societies in Mumbai are fully vaccinated. However, many are yet to be registered.

Additional Municipal Commissioner of the BMC, Suresh Kakani, said that till Monday, November 15, 14,207 housing societies in Mumbai were given the fully vaccinated tag.

The administration will soon paste the QR tag outside societies with the fully inoculated adult population as it will help officials map areas with individuals partially vaccinated, and they will set up mobile vaccination centres in clusters to cover 15-20 societies.

In the first week of October, BMC had issued request letters to housing societies. They asked them for details of the vaccination status of the eligible population. The administration asked them to include daily visitors such as maids, gardeners, milkmen etc. By the end of October, around 10,000 housing societies got the fully-vaccinated status.

Mumbai has already achieved its set target of administering the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. While, the BMC, since July, has jabbed 8,672 bedridden patients in Mumbai.
