COVID-19 patients in Mira-Bhayandar recovering at a faster rate

The coronavirus cases in the twin-city of Mira-Bhayandar have been increasing since the coronavirus outbreak started in Maharashtra. The region has been under strict lockdown to stop the spread of the coronavirus. However, the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients in the region has started improving. 

In Mira-Bhayandar, more than 80 per cent of COVID-19 patients are recovering. As of August 10, the twin-city has reported nearly 10,082 coronavirus cases and of them, almost 8,000 COVID-19 patients have recovered. This means that 80 per cent of the persons infected by the coronavirus has been discharged from the hospitals. 

According to the data released by the Maharashtra Public Health Department, nearly 109 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from Mira-Bhayandar. Meanwhile, 134 of the patients were discharged. The death toll in the region has increased to 333. Of the total 10,082 cases, 1,492 active cases are undergoing treatment. 

The Maharashtra government recently extended the lockdown till August 31 midnight and initiated the third phase of unlocking business activities under ‘Mission Begin Again’. However, the unlocking has not been witnessed in parts of the Thane district including Mira-Bhayandar region. 

Shopping malls and market complex will remain close in the region. As per the new directives issued by the administration, hotels and restaurants are allowed to operate in Mira-Bhayandar with 33 per cent capacity.  

Maharashtra has been one of the worst-hit states in India due to the coronavirus pandemic with 5,24,513 cases. The death toll in the state has touched 18,050. In Mumbai, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 1,24,307 while the active cases remain 19,172. The death toll in the metropolitan has reached 6,845.
