Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has received a lot of slack for felling of trees in the city for the Metro-3 project. Now, for the Shitladevi Metro Station and Dadar Metro station, they are planning to chop down another 20 trees.
To add to that, traffic is going to be diverted in those areas for construction.
An excavation machine is set up in the middle of the road in Mahim and around 15 trees will be chopped down there. So MMRC has asked for permission from the ‘Garden and Tree Authority’.
The authority has criticised MMRC for mismanagement as these trees were added to their initial plan.
