Prices of Onion Come Down

On Tuesday, October 15, the maximum price of the onion was ₹31.82 per kg as compared to ₹ 38.25 per kg on October 10.

The prices of the onion had surged drastically last week and the government had therefore taken various measures to curb it. The export of onion was reduced, the merchants could purchase only 500 quintals per day and more onion stock was brought in from the southern states of India.

On Tuesday, October 15, the maximum price of the onion was ₹31.82 per kg as compared to ₹ 38.25 per kg on October 10. Similarly, the minimum price dropped to ₹11.01 per kg on Tuesday, as compared to ₹14.51 per kg registered on October 10. The difference is ₹6 and ₹3 respectively. 

Earlier, the onions were only brought in from Nashik but now they have started coming from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Bangalore.
