With the end of 2019 drawing closer, people will be looking forward to New Year Eve parties. While a majority of people celebrate the parties in bars, banquets, hotels or at home, there are some individuals that celebrate the night in forests or near historical places such as forts.

Every year people celebrate New Year's Eve at these places, and while doing so they tend to litter around, which has been causing irritation amongst the local residents. Therefore, this year, prior to the Forest Department's announcement to not party at these places, the local residents have already put up warning boards.

Along with such individuals, there are several trekking groups that use the opportunity to conduct a trek on the date. However, these trekking groups also have caused nuisance as they tend to throw garbage on the trail and therefore, damage the historical places.

With a rise in such misconducts since the last two-three years, the locals have this year decided to completely disallow people from going to the places on December 31. Residents near forts such as Harishchandragad, Mahuli, Prabalmachi etc. have put up warning boards, asking people not to visit the forts on December 31.
