Apart from being a good cricketer, an excellent slip fielder, Ajinkya Rahane proved that he is also a good human being. On June 15, Team India defeated Afghanistan in their debut Test match by 262 runs and an innings. After their victory, when the team received the trophy, captain Rahane made a heart-winning gesture when he called the Afghanistan players to pose with the trophy along Team India.
Along with it, Rahane wished the Afghanistan team luck for their future Test matches to come on Twitter:
Fantastic effort by the boys to wrap this up in 2 days!

Although the visitors lost the Test match, Afghanistan learnt that they had a lot to catch up on. Afghanistan getting the status of Test-playing nation, shows the evolution of cricket in several countries. Despite being affected by the war, Afghanistan displayed an example of courage and gained recognition in the cricketing world.
Here are some tweets that appreciated the gesture by Rahane and team India.
What a brilliant gesture from #TeamIndia to ask @ACBofficials players to pose with them with the Trophy. This has been more than just another Test match #SpiritofCricket #TheHistoricFirst #INDvAFG @Paytm pic.twitter.com/TxyEGVBOU8
