Ajinkya Rahane to lead team India in the maiden Test match against Afghanistan

Virat Kohli, who will miss the Test match against Afghanistan, has been declared the captain of the Surrey team and will lead the team throughout the County league.

In the absence of Virat Kohli for the sole Test match against Afghanistan next month, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian Team. Virat Kohli has decided to play County cricket to prepare for India's England tour later this year. 

Kohli has been declared the captain of the Surrey team and will lead the team throughout the County league.

Jaspreet Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar have also been excluded from the squad due to the busy schedule of Indian team whereas Karun Nair has replaced Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma.

Shreyas Iyer, who currently leads the Delhi Daredevils in the ongoing Indian Premier League, has not been included in the Test squad, but he has been handed the captaincy of India A squad. He will be the captain of the India A team in the one-day tri-series between England Lions and West Indies 'A'.
