On the grimmer side of the news spectrum, on Wednesday, January 27, Sourav Ganguly, former India captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, was taken to the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata after he complained of chest pain.

The BCCI president earlier in the month was hospitalized after he complained of chest pain. According to reports, the former India captain reached the Woodlands hospital in Kolkata at 1 pm on Saturday, January 2. Later, the 48-year-old sportsman was taken for a primary angioplasty after suffering chest discomfort while working out on a treadmill at his home gym. However, it was reported that he is in a stable condition now. Ganguly’s treatment would be supervised by a panel of three doctors.

However, in recent developments, it is being reported that Ganguly felt uneasiness last evening and felt mild chest pain this morning after which his family members decided to take him to Apollo Hospital. Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, his condition is stable.

Moreover, after the former India captain had complained of chest pain earlier this month while exercising at his Behala residence, a nine-member medical team was formed and opinions were sought from renowned experts and cardiac surgeons including Devi Shetty, R K Panda, Samuel Mathew and Aswin Mehta from India and Shamin K Sharma from New York before a stent was implanted.
