After facing a tough defeat against visitors Bangladesh, Indian Cricket Team stand-in captain, Rohit Sharma will be looking to bounce back in the second T20 on November 7. However, as Sharma will enter the ground, he will also be entering an elite list by registering a record.

Stand-in captain and Mumbai lad Rohit Sharma will become the first Indian player and second in world cricket to complete 100 T20 Internationals when he takes the field in the second match against Bangladesh here on Thursday.

The only player to have played 100 T20 matches is former Pakistani pace spearhead Shoaib Malik who ha featured in 111 T20I games. Rohit had earlier surpassed Virat Kohli’s record to become the highest run-getter in the T20I format of the game.

In the meantime, the Mumbai cricketer also became the most capped player for India in the shortest format of the game. Following Sharma is former Indian captain MS Dhoni who has played 98 matches for the Men in Blue.

Meanwhile, ahead of the second T20, Sharma expressed his desire to bounce back.

You need to understand that this is a format where we are trying a lot of players," he said ahead of India's encounter against Bangladesh at the SCA Stadium.

"Probably that is one of the reasons [for the losses] because in the other formats we have our entire squad playing the game — you get what you want from that particular squad. But this is a format where you can try [new players] and there is no harm in doing that. We want to try a lot of players, to get them ready for the other formats also. We want our bench strength to be as strong as possible. But that does not mean that we have to not win matches. We have to win — that is the priority. But these guys will learn from it," he added.
