Sai Mumbai Masters Premier League (MMPL) kicked off in style on Sunday as Worli Pitch Smashers beat Chembur Strikers by seven wickets at Police Gymkhana.
Thanks to Ashwin Arora's penetrating bowling, Chembur Strikers' innings was wrapped up in 18.3 overs and scored 152 in the process.
Ashwin Arora and Raju Govekar were the star performers in the game as they didn't let any of the Chembur batsmen settle but then came Aditya Khandilkar.
Hitting 12 fours in 27 balls, Aditya scored a brave 70 to help his side get to 152. Ashwin Arora bagged five wickets, while Ajoy Singh and Raju Govekar bagged two each.
With 153 to win, Worli got off to a shaky start with batsmen Steven Joseph going for 13. A crucial second-wicket partnership followed when Raju Govekar and Harshad Kohli guided their side towards victory with a 103-run stand.
