Schedule of IPL 2020 to be released on Friday: Ganguly

The preparations of IPL 2020 are going on in full swing. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, this season of IPL was postponed and now the venue too has been changed to UAE. All teams have reached the venue and started practising post their mandatory quarantine period. 

There were speculations that the first match of this season would be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Mumbai Indians but the fans were eagerly waiting for the schedule. It seems like their wait will end today. The schedule of IPL 2020 will be released on Friday. This announcement was made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on September 3 Thursday.

"We understand schedules are delayed. It is almost on the verge of getting final and should be released by Friday," Ganguly was quoted as saying by a TV channel.

In the past week there have been many speculations in regards to the thirteenth edition of IPL. It was earlier assumed that the first match would be between Dhoni's Chennai Super Kinds and Mumbai Indias. But later in the week, 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings tested positive for coronavirus. This, in turn, sparked speculations about the start of the tournament on time.

Now it seems that everything has been sorted and the matches are expected to begin from the 19th of this month. The tournament will go on for 56 days and the finals will be played on November 10.
