Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG) T20 tournament sponsored by Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will begin from the March 22. The inaugural match will be played between D.Y. Patil Sports Club and Parkofin Cricket Club.

The three-day tournament will be inaugurated by former Indian cricketer, Ramesh Powar at 9:00 am on Thursday at Shivaji Park Gymkhana. SPG President Pravin Amre, Chairman Avinash Kamat, Secretary Sanjeev Khanolkar, Assistant Secretary Sunil Ramachandran, are expected to be present at the inaugural ceremony.

10 teams will participate in the third edition of SPG-LIC T-20 Cricket tournament. Defending champions National Cricket Club, Past Winners Payyade Sports Club, Karnataka Sports Association, Mumbai Police Gymkhana, D. Y Patil Sports Club, Parkofin Cricket Club, New Hind, Dadar Union Sporting Club, Sindh Sports Club and host Shivaji Park Gymkhana will compete at the tournament.

The tournament’s pre-quarterfinal match will be held on March 23 and the semi-finals will be held on March 24 at Shivaji Park. The finals will be held on March 25. The winner will get a trophy and the cash prize of one lakh rupees from former Indian captain, Dilip Vengsarkar.
