On Wednesday, August 19, the BMC stated that any CBI official visiting the city will have to be quarantined if their stay is to extend seven days. Moreover, it stated that the officials are otherwise expected to apply for exemption ahead of their visit.

This comes after senior officials from the BMC had asserted that they are yet to receive any official notification from the CBI regarding their visit. This development comes as the civic body had earlier quarantined Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwary, who had visited the city to monitor the investigation by Bihar Police in the late actor’s death case.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had pronounced the verdict while hearing Rhea Chakraborty's plea seeking transfer of probe and giving the much-awaited nod for the investigation to be conducted by CBI. The Supreme Court also directed the Mumbai Police to cooperate with the CBI during the investigation in the late actor’s death case.

A single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy upheld the Bihar government's order to transfer the investigation to CBI. Moreover, Justice Roy held that the Bihar Police had jurisdiction to register FIR at the complaint of Sushant's father.

Back in the month of June, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. Even though the Mumbai Police immediately claimed it to be a suicide, post his death many other facts, evidence and testimonies have emerged that have cast a shadow around this narrative leading to further conjecture regarding the issue.
