FIR Against Unknown Person For Clicking Navneet Rana's MRI Scan Pictures

The accused did not have permission to commit the act and has been captured in the CCTV cameras in the hospital. The footage has reportedly been given to the police.

On Wednesday, May 11, the Bandra Police registered an FIR against an unknown individual who is claimed to have clicked pictures of MP Navneet Rana when she was in the MRI scan room, reports stated. Her picture in the MRI scan room at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital went viral on social media. 

According to accounts, an FIR has been registered under Sections 448 (trespassing) and 336 (act done rashly or negligently endangering lives) of the IPC.

Based on narratives, the complainant is Amit Gaud who is a security supervisor at the hospital. The complainant has been quoted in reports elaborating on how an unknown individual clicked Rana's pictures when she was lying in the MRI machine. Gaud claims that the unknown person then gave the pictures to the media which became viral. He added that it's against the rules to take any form of electronic materials or metals in the MRI room. 

It has been reported that the complainant elucidated that a board also states that videography, and photography are not permitted. He further uttered that the accused did not have permission to commit the act and had been captured in the CCTV cameras in the hospital. The footage has reportedly been given to the police. 

The said occurrence transpired on May 6 when Rana was sent to the MRI division in the radiology department. She was accompanied by her husband, Ravi Rana, his security guard, and an unknown person. She was admitted to the hospital following her bail from Byculla jail after her arrest for threatening to recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray's residence. 

Rana's viral video erupted into an uproar in the political spectrum with several Shiv Sena leaders visiting the hospital and questioning the management on how her picture went viral. Maharashtra health minister, Rajesh Tope also declared that they will be investigating the matter
