On Monday, May 9, a special court issued a notice to MP Navneet Rana and MLA, Ravi Rana who have been accused in a sedition case after a row of reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, seeking their response to a Mumbai Police application requesting that their bail be cancelled, reports stated.

According to accounts, the police want the couple's bail to be cancelled since they have allegedly violated a condition imposed by the special court when they were granted bail last week.

Based on narratives, a special judge briefly heard a special public prosecutor and issued a notice to the Ranas for the response. The court is slated to hear the matter further on May 18.

It has been reported that on Monday, Khar police filed an application that the court cancel the couple's bail since they have allegedly violated the condition of not speaking to the media.

The special public prosecutor was quoted in reports elaborating on how the couple since their release gave interviews to the media and thus have flouted the condition imposed by the special court when it was granting them bail.
