Mumbai Family Death: Doctors Clarify No Confirmed Link to Watermelon Food Poisoning

Following rumours linking the death of a family of four in Mumbai to watermelon consumption and suspected food poisoning, doctors have issued a clarification stating that the exact cause of death is still under investigation and no final conclusion has been reached.

The incident involved a couple and their two daughters who fell critically ill after consuming food at home and were later declared dead at hospital. Initial reports had suggested possible food poisoning, but medical experts have cautioned against directly attributing the deaths to watermelon or any single food item.

Doctors treating the case have stated that the clinical pattern observed in the victims does not fully match typical food poisoning cases, and further forensic and toxicology reports are awaited to determine the exact cause.

Authorities have also sent food samples, including watermelon and other items consumed by the family, for laboratory testing as part of the ongoing investigation.
