Param Bir Singh, the former Mumbai Police Commissioner along with two others, on Wednesday, November 17, were declared proclaimed offenders in Mumbai's Esplanade court, highlighted reports.

This occurred when the Mumbai police’s application to state Singh as a proclaimed offender was accepted. With this, the police can designate Singh as a wanted accused and commence the procedure to proclaim him an absconder, mentioned Shekhar Jagtap, Special Public Prosecutor, reported the news agency ANI.

Therefore, according to Jagtap, if Singh doesn’t appear before the law in 30 days, the Mumbai Police will commence the procedure for the attachment of his properties. These developments are in regard to the extortion case filed against Singh by the Mumbai police.

On Saturday, the city police had approached the magistrate court to declare Singh a proclaimed absconding offender along with Vinay Singh and Riyaz Bhati, the others accused. They did so whilst mentioning that they are absconding and thus cannot be traced.

Now, the Mumbai police will put the notice on their known address, as well as, publish it in newspapers. Herein they will direct them to appear within 30 days. If they fail to do so, the authorities will begin the procedure to attach their properties.
