Police book three in connection to Kanjurmarg’s Cinevista studio fire

In connection to Kanjurmarg’s Cinevista’s studio fire incident, Parksite police booked three people for causing death by negligence following a fire at the studio premises.

Taking a follow up on the report submitted by the fire brigade, Parksite police registered an FIR against two co-owners and a manager of the studio on Saturday. Police have booked an accused under section 304A (causing death by negligence) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. No arrest has been made so far. 

On January 6, 2018, a fire broke out in Kanjurmarg’s Cinevista studio which claimed the life of 20-year-old television production unit employee Gopi Verma. His body was found a day after the fire in the burnt debris.

Cinevista studio is situated near Kanjurmarg station and is spread over 25000 sq. Acres. The fire broke out on floor no 12 during a shoot of Colors’ upcoming show Bepannaah. Around 150 people were present during the incident including the leads Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopda.
