In regards to the extortion case, the dismissed cop, Sachin Waze has been sent into Crime branch custody till November 6 by a court, highlighted accounts. Waze has been lodged in Taloja jail for his supposed involvement in the Ambani security scare case.

He was then arrested by the police and on Monday was shown before the holiday court of the additional chief metropolitan magistrate. Shekhar Jagtap, the special public prosecutor along with Sairuchita Chowdhary, the lawyer sought Waze’s custody on 13 grounds, stated reports.

This included the Mumbai police’s need to question him if he had extorted money from others for the former police commissioner of Mumbai, Param Bir Singh. Last week, a court issued a non-bailable warrant against Singh in the mentioned case.

Mumbai police crime branch’s probe against Waze, Singh and others is according to a complaint filed by a restaurant owner claiming that the accused extorted money for the seamless functioning of two eateries.

Waze had opposed the police being accorded his custody stating his ill health, but the special NIA court permitted the plea by the Mumbai police.

In other developments, Anil Deshmukh appeared before the Enforcement Directorate after four months of evasion on Monday.
