Hours after two masked men robbed the SBI branch in Dahisar West's Gurukul Society, the Mumbai Crime Branch Unit XI and Zone XI Police arrested both the accused.

The incident took place at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday, December 29. Moreover, Sandesh Gomane, a 25-year-old contractual employee was killed in the incident.

However, the Mumbai police are yet to disclose their identities but claimed that both the attackers are locals.

The police, which formed eight teams to crack the case, managed to locate them with the help of CCTV footage.

Reports stated that one of the attackers also left behind his one slipper at the bank and the police took help of a sniffer dog to locate him.

As per police sources a 16-year-old boy is one of the arrested accused. The two have been arrested on the charges of murder and arms robbery, said police.

Reportedly, after the robbery, the accused had fled on foot by crossing the foot over the bridge of Dahisar railway station. With the help of a dog squad, the police traced them down to a dairy located in Dahisar East.

Since the bank was about to close its operations for the day its shutter was also half-closed and there was no guard at the time. However, seven to eight employees were on the premises and the Mumbai police have recorded their statements.
