What to watch during some free time, especially on the weekends is a recurrent question that surfaces in all our lives. The hunt to find something is one that consistently haunts almost every serial-binger. But what if we tell you that we have an answer to this question – for now anyway; movies which are approved by the National Awards Committee themselves. To ease the suffering of all movie buffs out there, we have curated a list of five unique titles streaming on Amazon Prime Video that have won big at the 67th National Award that no movie lover should miss. Here it goes:

Asuran – A movie which has Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead does not need a long description since the names are enough. This 2019 Tamil movie also marked Manju Warrier’s Tamil debut. With brilliant direction by Vetrimaaran and jaw-dropping performances by the cast, it was no surprise that the movie at the 2019 National Awards bagged the Best Film in Tamil accolade as well as saw Dhanush take home the Best Actor award.

Picasso – Amazon Prime Video’s first ever Marathi movie has been in the news for all the right reasons ever since it was announced. Directed by Abhijit, this film features critically acclaimed actor – Prasad Oak in the lead along with Ashwini Mukhadam. It is a heart-melting story of love between a father and son. It got a Special Mention in the recently held National Awards whose winners were announced today (March 22).

Rabb Da Radio 2 – The sequel to the 2017 superhit movie, Rabb Da Radio 2 won the Best Punjabi Film at the 67th National Film Awards. The movie is directed by Sharan Art and stars Simi Chahal, Tarsem Jassar in lead roles. It brilliantly spins an emotional tale of deteriorating relations between a joint family who once were inseparable.

Gumnaami – This mystery thriller which revolves around the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is directed by Srijit Mukherji and was a commercial and critical hit. The brilliant story, along with commendable performances by the cast took the film little or no time to make an instant impact amongst avid cinephiles. Watching popular actor Prosenjit Chatterjee as Netaji and Gumnaami Baba left all those watching in awe and it was certainly no surprise to see the movie being awarded the Best Bengali Film accolade today.

Maharishi – This Telugu gem features Mahesh Babu in the lead. Need we say more? This action drama directed by Vamshi Paidipally has won several awards and was a huge critical and commercial hit. The film added two feathers to its cap by taking home the the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Choreography respectively at the 67th National Film Awards.
