Schedule for CBSE class 10 and 12 examinations to be announced on February 2

Officials at the CBSE had earlier clarified that the examinations this year will be conducted in written format, and clarifying further, minister Pokhriyal confirmed that the presence of students at the examination centres will be mandatory.

Students appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) Class X and XII examination dates are waiting for the authorities to announce the exam dates for 2021. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank,' via video conferencing confirmed that the board is planning to share the exam-related information on February 2, 2021.

Minister Pokhriyal further said that the practicals of CBSE Board Examinations 2021 will be held on March 1, 2021, and the written test will start on May 4, 2021. These exams will continue till June 10, 2021, the results are expected by July 15, 2021. Adding more, he said that the detailed schedule will be available on the website soon.

Authorities today met the CBSE board presidents and secretaries of the schools with an aim to understand the need in revising the CBSE curriculum for the upcoming academic year. The new curriculum is being planned as per the recently announced National Education Policy (NEP). Reports state that over a thousand principals from various schools participated in the online interaction. 

While addressing the principals and other officials, the minister emphasised on the need to make regional languages mandatory across schools. He stated that the same should be used as 'medium of instruction' as informed in the NEP. Keeping the same in mind, schools will have to ensure the same is implemented across India.

Besides this, the boars also expressed the need to inculcate values among students from an earlier state and stressed that offering vocation-based subjects across schools from Grade 6 is also important. 

Minister Pokhriyal mentioned that the students' education was not impacted during the pandemic and the ministry has successfully planned various examinations in the country.
