With the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) results being declared on Friday, June 17, the office of the deputy director of education (DyDE) on Saturday, June 18, proclaimed that the past two of the first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions forms will be accessible to students from June 22, reports stated.

An official from DyDE was quoted in accounts elaborating on how presently, they will commence the second part of the admissions forms only for state board students. The official added that further schedule with the dates, the merit lists will also be declared soon.

Based on narratives, admission to FYJC in Mumbai is in accordance with pre-admissions registrations that entail filling out a two-part form. Following a basic registration, aspirants of class 11 fill out the first part of the form which comprises basic details like name, age, and education, amongst others. In the form part two, on the other hand, students put in their grade 10 scores and share a list of ten colleges and courses where they seek to study. This is called the preference list.

While, this year, SSC exams were conducted between March and the first week of April, other educational boards such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) scheduled their exams for grades 10 and 12 in May, reports cited.

In other cases, some exams were held in June. Owing to this, concerns have been raised about the delays in holding FYJC admissions.
