IIT-Bombay generates highest revenue amongst all the IITs: HRD Ministry report

While IIT-Bombay raked the highest revenue, IIT-Madras during the three years, generated revenue worth ₹29.69 crore. On the other hand, IIT-Delhi generated ₹26.48 crore during the period.

Education is an important aspect of a person’s life and alongside, it also contributes to the nation’s development. One of the most prominent educational institutes in India is 'Indian Institute of Technology' (IIT), and as per a recent report by Human Resources Department (HRD) Ministry, the revenue generated by IIT-Bombay in the last three years, has been the highest among all the IITs in the country.

In the last three years, through research, innovation, consultation and patents, IIT-Bombay has been the frontrunner for earning revenue. The Mumbai-based engineering institute was followed by IIT-Madras and IIT-Delhi in regard to revenue produced.

IIT-Bombay has raised ₹17.99 crore from the sources during the FY 2017-18, whereas in the 2016-17 and 2015-16, the leading engineering institute raised ₹17.11 crore and ₹10.65 crore, respectively.
