According to the latest reports, the University of Mumbai examination department has been told by Suhas Pednekar, Vice Chancellor to address student grievances virtually.
The decision was taken in the aftermath of questions asked at the yearly senate meet on Tuesday, March 15 about enhanced facilities for students who find it arduous to approach the examination department at the Kalina campus of the university.
Based on accounts, the yearly senate meet was conducted offline after a year. It has been reported that members of the senate elaborated on how issues like missing signatures or stamps on the mark sheets cause the students to be in a dilemma.
The senate’s first day meet concluded with the question answer session. Apart from this, on Wednesday, March 16 the annual budget will be tabled before the senate, cited officials in accounts.
In other developments, Mumbai University will be conducting the final semester six exams for all the traditional and self-financed undergraduate courses online. Similarly, exams for all professional courses that include engineering, law, management and BEd will be held offline as mentioned earlier.
Moreover, Mumbai University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Library in its Kalina campus is slated to be shifted to a new building. The library has been in the limelight owing to its poor state with books and research papers rotting.
