According to the latest reports, the Maharashtra school education department has curated a module of remedial teaching for implementation in schools, from June onwards following the summer break. This is being done considering the academic loss students faced owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on accounts, the module will entail assessments of pupils to identify learning loss, teacher training for adequate implementation as well as grade-wise bridge courses.

It has been reported that with the new academic year, students were anticipated to study the new syllabus, but they will have to wait to finish the bridge courses. The department says that it is crucial to understand pupil's comprehension from previous classes. Prior to the introduction of bridge courses, students will be assessed and teachers will be trained to offer the requisite remedial teaching, narratives mentioned.

The module has been made by the State Council for Educational Research and Training, reports cited. Accounts suggest that bridge courses will be in accordance with the necessary learning outcomes of various grades. With schools reopening in June, assessments will be conducted first to ascertain the loss of learning before the introduction of bridge courses. Therefore, it is only after the bridge courses that the new curriculum of higher classes will commence.
