On Tuesday night, September 7, the pedestrian, who was hit by actor Rajat Bedi's car succumbed to his injuries. He was admitted to Cooper Hospital in Mumbai. Bedi was driving the vehicle in the evening in Andheri west when he suddenly hit a man.

The 39-year old died on Tuesday, leading to cops filing an FIR against the actor under section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with an accused causing death due to negligence.

Earlier, he was booked under sections 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).

Rajat Bedi's manager, who spoke to E-times, gave condolences to the family and said it was an unfortunate incident. However, Rajat was driving the car slowly, and Rajesh (victim), who was drunk, suddenly came in front of the vehicle, which led to the accident.

She also said that after the accident, the actor had extended "all possible help and support to him." The actor had reportedly arranged for blood in the night at 3.30 am. Suresh, Rajat's friend, was there with the family throughout to help them with medicines and other treatment.

His manager said that the actor is cooperating with the authorities and shall communicate soon.

For those unversed, the victim, Rajesh Doot, was hit by the actors’ car on Monday, September 6, at 6.30 pm while returning from work is in a critical condition. He was the resident of DN Nagar, Mumbai.

Bedi said he would help the family in all possible ways; however, he reportedly left and never returned.
