Mumbai- The Holi song from upcoming film 'Badrinath ki Dulhaniya' has already crossed 51 million views on YouTube.
The film 'Badrinath ki Dulhaniya' will hit screens on 10 March, just before Holi. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will be seen in the lead roles in the film.
Bollywood films have always had a strong connection with Indian festivals and Holi songs have always rated high on popularity. Beginning with V Shantaram's 'Navrang', which featured actor Sandhya in a dual role in the iconic 'Jaa re hat natkhat' song, Holi songs in Hindi films have been innovative and often provocative, as evidenced in Silsila's 'Rang Barse'.
Baghban's 'Holi khele Raghubeera' sung by Amitabh Bachchan was another hit that was a rage in the 2000s. After a long drought, ‘Ye Jawani Hai Diwani’ brought the genre back with the Holi song 'Balam Pichkari' in 2015. Now after a two year gap, this year's Holi has a fresh song to groove to.
The song from 'Badrinath ki Dulhaniya' goes
Baby badi bholi hai
Baby ki rang di choli hai
Angrezi mein khitpit madam ri
Bura na maano holi hai
The film is directed by Shashank Khetan.
