On Sunday, May 31, the Government of Maharashtra have the permitted for the media fraternity to resume shooting films, advertisements, TV and web shows with immediate effect.

The Maharashtra government on Sunday, May 31, 2020, announced a significant decision by permitting production houses to resume shootings for films, TV shows, advertisements and web series with immediate effect in the state.

Members from the fraternity appealed to the ministry seeking permission for the industry to begin working, as the industry was shut due to the lockdown since March 2020. The delegation comprising of eminent members from Bollywood had a conversation with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray last week.

Necessary steps and action were taken by the government under the #MissionBeginAgain initiative where officials on Saturday released a new set of guidelines which directs the media fraternity to begin working amidst the tough times. Firms focusing on resuming shoot will be required to submit their applications to the Maharashtra Films, Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation at the Dadasaheb Phalke Film City, Goregaon, or at the district collectorates concerned across the state.

Addressing the same, IANS spoke to an official who quoted, "After scrutinising the applications, the concerned authority will give the go-ahead for the shooting proposals. They will have to adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines issued separately for the purpose."

As per directives, members of the fraternity have been asked to follow 16-page guideline manual which aims to create awareness and will help the team manage coronavirus risks on the sets and studios. Guidelines have been issued for every department and activity which includes editing facilities, casting and artist management, production offices, trailers, tents, crowd control and physical distancing, handling of equipment, operations controls, actors and junior artistes, contestants for non-fiction shows, and many others..
