Recently, Afroz Shah decided to give up on his initiative of cleaning up the Versova beach but now he's being strongly backed by none other than Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On Sunday, he participated in the Versova beach clean-up drive along with Shah. 

He promised that he would submit the ocean conversation policy made by Shah to the State Government and the latter will work on it. He added that around 2100 MLD sewage water is released into the sea. This will be stopped and soon, the sewage water will be initially treated and will be later released into the sea.

He also touched upon the subject of plastic waste on the seashore.

In the coming six months, plastic will be banned and we will also take people’s suggestions into consideration. Shah had given up his drive but I am happy that he resumed his plan. The State Government will always back and support such activities.”

CM asked school students and volunteers to take a pledge in keeping the sea shore clean. Along with the CM, Yuva Sena president Aditya Thackeray and Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar were present along with Afroz Shah.
