While the rains have subdued in the city and its suburbs, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in the city and suburbs. With this, the ongoing green alert for Mumbai continues for the next two days, on Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22.

As of now there is no rainfall warning for Mumbai and nearby regions. Therefore, the green alert will continue. However, the climate will remain wet with moderate showers and cloudy skies, said IMD officials.

Owing to the monsoon, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Mumbai has improved and Mumbaikars are breathing a good air. Accordingly, Mumbai has recorded a good air quality with an AQI of 24 on Wednesday, July 20, as per the data revealed by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR).

The lower the AQI value, the cleaner the air, while a higher AQI indicates a greater level of air pollution and health concerns.

In addition, the minimum temperature has seen a significant drop, but the humidity level remains high. On Thursday, July 21, as on 8.30 am, the maximum and minimum temperature recorded by IMD's Santacruz observatory was 30.5 and 25.6 degrees Celsius whereas Colaba observatory recorded 29.5 and 25.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

Meanwhile, a high tide of 3.53 metres is likely to occur at 05.41 pm in Mumbai today. Also, a low tide of 2.37 metres is expected at 11.47 am tonight.

The water stock in the seven lakes supplying water to the city has reached 12,82,266 million litres in the last 24 hours. At the same time last year it was 5,31,734 million litres.
