Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will initiate ‘we will bring Bappa to your home’ ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi which will be celebrated on August 22.

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi will be as grand as before and people may face difficulties while bringing the Ganesh idol at their homes. In order to provide ease to the people, the MNS has decided to deliver the Ganpati idol at their homes.

The MNS will initiate this campaign in Mahim legislative assembly which includes areas such as Dadar, Mahim and Prabhadevi. The party will provide transport services to bring the idol home and MNS workers will also deliver the Ganpati idols at people’s home.

MNS leader Nitin Sardesai informed that the devotees will be given with the doorstep delivery facility from two days before the Ganesh Chaturthi in order to avoid congestion on roads.

On August 22, several people will bring the Ganesh idol at their homes and the possibility of a crowd on roads can’t be ruled out. Desai said that the devotees will have to provide their names, addresses, contact numbers and other details to MNS workers so that the Ganesh idols can be delivered at their doorstep.

Ganeshotsav is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Mumbai every year. Bappa's arrival and Visarjan are also performed in a grand manner. However, this year the celebration has been interrupted due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Maharashtra government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have appealed people to not crowd in public places due to the coronavirus outbreak.
