Mumbai City FC recorded their first win of pre-season, comfortably beating Maejo United 3-1 on Wednesday evening.

The Islanders got off to a bright start with their latest recruit Modou Sougou of Senegal scoring the opening goal in the 25th minute. Sougou impressed with his skills on the ball and speedy forays all throughout the contest.

Mumbai City FC dominated possession and kept applying pressure on the opponents, and easily thwarted the Thai team's moves who are playing their trade in the Thailand Amateur League division.

They built on their first half lead of 1-0 by adding one more goal in the 63rd minute. Former SC Braga man Rafael Bastos fired in a screamer from 25 yards way that brooked no response from the Maejo keeper.

Maejo United fought back five minutes later, though, with Apisit Dedkad pumping in an opportunistic goal. Nimble footed 22-year-old Alan Deory then made the most of a smart Sanju Pradhan pass to beat two players slot home the third goal in the 73rd minute.
