Coronavirus Update: 81 fresh COVID-19 cases reported, 416 total number in Maharashtra

“Of the 81 newly reported COVID-19 cases, 57 are from Mumbai followed by 6 in Pune, three in Pimpri Chinchwad, 9 in Ahmednagar, 5 in Thane and 1 in Buldhana,” the Maharashtra Health Department informed.

Maharashtra Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday informed that the number of positive coronavirus or COVID-19 cases has increased to 416 while the death toll has risen to 19. The state health ministry stated that the 81 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state while 57 are from Mumbai. 

“Of the 81 newly reported COVID-19 cases, 57 are from Mumbai followed by 6 in Pune, three in Pimpri Chinchwad, 9 in Ahmednagar, 5 in Thane and 1 in Buldhana,” the Maharashtra Health Department informed. 

In less than 24 hours, two cases of the coronavirus or COVID-19 have been reported from Dharavi in Mumbai. This has worried the officials and has hinted towards the massive spread of the coronavirus. 

Earlier, a 56-year-old man who was tested positive of the COVID-19 died. The man had no travel history and first went to the hospital, with symptoms of the coronavirus, on March 23. 

Later, his home was sealed and other seven residents of the house have been home quarantined. The union health ministry also informed that his contact tracing was being done. 

As of April 2, in Maharashtra, the number of positive COVID-19 cases have increased to 416 while the death toll is 19. Earlier, it was reported that 181 COVID-19 patients are from Mumbai. 

Meanwhile, amid the urgent need to find a cure of the COVID-19, two Indian drug makers are indulging to develop a specific drug which has shown to help in the recovery of patients infected with the coronavirus.
