Talking about the same, Dr. Mala Kaneria, Consultant of Infectious Diseases at Jaslok Hospital said, "Avoid agglomerations (gathering of people) as far as possible. Maintain a social distancing of at least 3 feet (preferably 6 feet) when interacting with people. Practice respiratory hygiene, that is, use a disposable tissue while coughing or sneezing. Practice hand hygiene meticulously. Use an alcohol-based hand rub or wash hands with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth regularly as these are the portals of entry for the virus. The virus does not survive on surfaces for more than 6 to 12 hours, depending on the porosity of the surface. Hence regular wiping of surfaces with household detergents is recommended."
