Mira-Bhayandar is a city and municipal corporation in the Thane district, which has been witnessing a rise in the number of coronavirus cases. The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation in view of the situation has decided to conduct door-to-door checks to evaluate the medical condition of the people living in the area.

Through these medical checks, people who show symptoms of the COVID-19 can further be examined and treated. As the number of coronavirus patients has been steadily increasing for the last couple of days, the administration has announced a strict lockdown in order to contain the spread of the contagious disease.  

Earlier the MBMC was getting a lot of complaints with regards to patients with mild symptoms of the coronavirus who had been home quarantined walking around fearlessly in their neighbourhoods. By conducting this irresponsible behaviour, the people are not only endangering their own lives but of other people’s around them. Since then, MBMC has decided to keep these patients in quarantine centres, instead of keeping them at home.   

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Tuesday, July 14, recorded 6,741 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus disease, taking the overall tally of confirmed cases to 2,67,665, according to the state health department. On the other hand, in the state capital Mumbai, 969 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus on Tuesday, taking the aggregate to 95,100. The tally in neighbouring Thane district touched 65,324, while that in Palghar stood at 10,226. Pune so far has 42,092 cases while Nagpur has recorded 2,156 cases of COVID-19.
